New Cross Hospital appeals to 4×4 drivers to help doctors and nurses get to work in Beast from the East.
With heavy snow and sub-zero temperatures forecast for much of the Midlands and beyond, Health bosses have appealed for help from 4×4 owners to drive doctors and nurses into work if the Beast from the East does its worst
Britain is reportedly facing its coldest weather since 1991, with more than 20cm of snow expected to settle in parts by Wednesday.
Forecasters warned another weather system, Storm Emma, would bring blizzards, gales and sleet.
The storm will move north through Europe and is due to hit the UK on Thursday and Friday.
This could lead to dangerous conditions on roads and pavements and have an impact on people’s health which is why the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust are looking for volunteers with 4x4s to offer their assistance to help everyone get to and from work safely if there is heavy snowfall this week, following a post on social media.
